DALICA NATHAN
Head of EYFS
As Head of Early Years Foundation Stage, I am proud to lead a learning environment
rooted in the EYFS curriculum, where curiosity, independence, and a love for
learning are nurtured from the very beginning of a child’s school journey.
Our Foundation Stage is carefully designed to support children as they progress from
FS1 through FS2 and into Year 1, ensuring a smooth, confident transition at every
stage. Learning takes place across a rich balance of indoor and outdoor
environments, which are thoughtfully planned to complement and extend one another.
Children move freely between these spaces, allowing learning to develop naturally
through exploration, play, and meaningful interactions.
Guided by the EYFS framework, we place strong emphasis on high-quality continuous
provision in the early years, enabling children to follow their interests, develop
key skills, and build independence within a supportive and engaging environment. As
children move through FS2 and into Year 1, learning gradually becomes more
structured, supporting the development of focus, resilience, and readiness for the
next phase of their education, while still maintaining creativity, active learning,
and hands-on experiences.
Our approach ensures that every child feels safe, valued, and challenged, with
learning experiences that evolve alongside them. By combining play-based learning
with clear progression and high expectations, we provide a strong foundation for
lifelong learning and success.
I look forward to meeting you at our school.
Michael Lynch
Head of Primary
As Head of Primary at North Gate British School, I bring a deep passion for
education, high expectations, and a clear belief that every child deserves to
flourish both academically and personally. My leadership journey has taken me across
different phases of schooling and international contexts, shaping a values-driven
approach rooted in clarity, consistency and care. I believe schools should feel
purposeful and calm, where children are challenged intellectually, supported
emotionally, and inspired to aim high.
My work is grounded in three core principles: Kindness, Respect and Responsibility.
These are not abstract ideals, but practical foundations for how we speak, how we
behave, and how we learn together. I am particularly committed to developing strong
routines, clear behaviour systems and restorative conversations that help children
understand themselves and grow in maturity. Safeguarding and wellbeing are central
to my role, and I work closely with staff and families to ensure every child feels
safe, understood and valued.
Academically, I am passionate about curriculum design and instructional quality. I
strongly believe in secure foundations in reading, vocabulary development and
mathematical fluency, underpinned by structured, evidence-informed practice. I want
our children to believe that anything is possible — that through effort, resilience
and the acquisition of strong knowledge and skills, they can succeed not only in
school but far beyond it. Education should equip children with the confidence,
independence and character to thrive in an ever-changing world, and I work closely
with staff to ensure teaching is rigorous, engaging and aligned to the English
National Curriculum within our UAE context.
Above all, I see leadership as service. My role is to empower teachers, support
families and ensure children leave our Primary School confident, articulate and
ready for their next stage of learning. I am proud to lead a community that believes
in ambition with heart — where effort is recognised, character is developed, and
every child is encouraged to believe in what they can achieve.
DANIELLE GUSCOTT
Head of Secondary
As Head of Secondary at North Gate British School, I am proud to lead a vibrant and
ambitious
learning community where every student is supported to achieve their full potential.
Our
secondary phase is built on high expectations, strong relationships, and a
commitment to
academic excellence alongside personal development.
We provide a broad and balanced British curriculum, carefully adapted to meet the
needs of our
diverse student body, while also fulfilling the requirements of the UAE Ministry of
Education
with regards to the teaching of Arabic (first and second language), Islamic
Education (for
Muslim students) and Moral, Social & Cultural Education. Students benefit from a
structured
and supportive transition into Key Stage 3, followed by a rigorous and engaging GCSE
pathway
that prepares them for future success.
At the heart of our approach is a focus on developing kind, caring, confident,
respectful and
resilient young people. We aim to nurture independent learners who are curious,
reflective and
equipped with the skills needed for an ever-changing world.
I am passionate about creating a culture where students feel safe, valued and
inspired to succeed.
By working closely with our dedicated staff, supportive parents and the wider school
community, we aim to ensure that every child is known, challenged and encouraged to
thrive.
