As Principal of North Gate British School, I bring
over a decade of international educational experience, including 13 years working within the UAE. Having begun my career in the UK,
I have developed a deep understanding of both the British education system and the
unique context of schools across the region.
I firmly believe that every child has the opportunity to be successful. Success,
however, looks
different for every learner. My role is to ensure that each student is known, supported
and
challenged—so they can discover their strengths, build confidence and achieve their full
potential.
At the heart of my leadership is a commitment to developing future-ready learners. In a
rapidly changing world, academic knowledge alone is not enough. We place strong emphasis
on key learning skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication,
resilience and
student agency, ensuring our students are prepared not just for exams, but for life
beyond
school.
My approach to leadership is grounded in kindness, care and strong relationships. I
believe
that when a school community is built on trust, respect and genuine connection, both
students
and staff thrive. Creating a positive, supportive and ambitious culture is central to
everything
we do at North Gate.
I am passionate about ensuring that North Gate British School is a place where every
child
feels valued, inspired and empowered—a school where learning has purpose, expectations
are high, and opportunities are limitless.

I am thrilled and excited to be joining North Gate British School in August 2026. I bring a deep passion for teaching and learning, rooted in a belief that every child deserves an education that goes beyond the classroom. My approach is centred on delivering high-quality, holistic learning that nurtures not only academic excellence, but also the skills, mindset, and character needed to succeed in an ever-changing world. I am driven by the opportunity to develop confident, resilient, and compassionate young people who understand their potential and their impact. MICHAEL LYNCH
Head of Primary
As Head of Primary at North Gate British School, I am committed to creating a calm, purposeful environment where every child can flourish academically and personally. My leadership experience across international settings is grounded in clarity, consistency, and care, with high expectations for all learners.
Our core values, Kindness, Respect, and Responsibility, guide how we learn, speak, and grow together. I focus on strong routines, positive behaviour systems, and restorative approaches that support children’s personal development, alongside a strong emphasis on safeguarding and wellbeing.
Academically, I am passionate about high-quality teaching and a well-structured curriculum, with a focus on reading, vocabulary, and mathematical fluency. I believe in equipping children with the knowledge, skills, and resilience to succeed in school and beyond, within the framework of the English National Curriculum in the UAE context.
Above all, I see leadership as service, supporting teachers, working with families, and ensuring every child leaves Primary confident, capable, and ready for the next stage of learning.
DEEPIKA DAYAL
Deputy Head of Primary (Teaching & Learning)
As Deputy Head of Primary at North Gate British School, I am driven by the firm conviction that our greatest responsibility is to find and nurture the unique potential hidden within every child. With over a decade of experience in the UAE’s vibrant education sector, I have learned that true leadership is not about having all the answers, but about asking the right questions of our data and our practice to ensure no student is left behind. I remain a Science teacher at heart, still finding my greatest fulfillment in those small, everyday classroom moments where I strive to turn complex concepts into "aha!" moments.
I believe that for students to thrive in an ever-changing world, they must evolve into curious, independent learners and confident problem solvers. My role is to architect the environment where this growth happens. Specializing in instructional coaching and bespoke professional development, I work closely with our faculty to refine their craft. I am particularly passionate about middle leadership development, empowering our team to lead with impact. By mentoring teachers and fostering pedagogical excellence, I strive to ensure that our academic standards and student wellbeing are inextricably linked, creating a community where every learner is empowered to achieve their absolute personal best.
